a new experiment: my half-ass, whole-hearted video diary

snapshot of the women who attended my first Surfing & Yoga retreat

Welcome to a new experiment in my business and my life. I want to share more with y’all, and this experimental video diary is how I plan to do it.

In this video I’m talking about my nostalgia for long form content and conversation online, how I’m using experimentation to trick my brain out of perfectionism with this new project, and finding hope in unexpected places (like the Lord of the Rings movies).

Check out Seth Werkheiser’s Social Media Escape Club here (I talked about this in the video).

I hope you’ll leave me a comment, here or on YouTube. Let’s work out some ideas together.

    Love this, Amber.

You’ve genuinely been in my thoughts through all of this — it’s you having to live inside it that really moves me.
We’re watching from the other side of the planet with heavy hearts, and honestly, it all feels closer than we’d like. It’s a stark reminder that none of us are as removed from these forces as we pretend.

Lately, I’ve been talking through my fears and hopes with my two teenage kids — and weirdly, they give me real comfort. They’re so switched on. Their moral compass feels clearer than ours ever was at that age. It gives me hope.

And I’m just doing the small, ordinary things I know how to do: teaching yoga, practising meditation, trying to stay grounded, trying (sometimes imperfectly) to keep an open heart toward people who see things differently. That work feels more important than ever.

Thank you for showing up so honestly — no polish, no branding, just you. It isn’t cringey. It’s brave.
And I loved the LoR thread. I’m not a huge fan, not a battle-scenes person (so many looooong battles 😅)… but I really felt what you said about goodness and fellowship being something darkness can’t imagine.

So grateful for you. Sending you all my love. Can’t wait to catch up when the dust settles… and it will. xx

This is really wonderful and inspiring Amber! Although I’m not listening to the part on the Lord of the rings. Lol. It is so wonderful working with you. I love hearing your thoughts and how your mind thinks..
