How It Works:
Book a 6-hour time window in my calendar and fill out a form to tell me what we’ll be working on.
(If you have questions or want my input on your project before you book, that’s no problem. Email me at hello [at] amberkarnes.com.)
The day before our meeting, I’ll email to make sure you’re signed up on Voxer and that I have all the information I need for us to work together.
On the day we meet, we’ll begin with a chat on Voxer so I understand what we’re working on and together, we’ll make a plan for the day.
The rest of the day usually looks like:
Rapid-fire back and forth conversations on Voxer (similar to the pace of a phone call). Usually we’ll talk when you’ve got something to decide (like how to price something, or how to choose between two venues for an event).
Writing done by you. Whatever you’re writing (website copy, emails, your bio), I’ll set you up with a Google doc that has instructions, prompts, and ideas about what to put where.
Reviews by me. I might send a Loom video with my comments on what you’ve asked me to review, I can edit your Google Doc, or we can collaborate on a document at the same time.
Relaxed-pace “get unstuck” conversations when you don’t know what to do next or find yourself procrastinating on something.
Unmatched creativity and technical skills
As the Covid pandemic started, I found that all my work leading in-person Yoga trainings was canceled, and I didn’t have any idea what to do. Luckily, Amber was willing to partner with me in creating a new online platform which we called the Accessible Yoga School.
Amber’s perfect combination of creativity and technical skills is truly unmatched in the Yoga world, and I know I could never have done this without her.
Just a few areas where she is highly skilled are graphic design, marketing, podcasting, online tech, web design, , team building, fundraising, community engagement, and so much more.

My official thought partner when launching big projects
Amber is my official thought partner when I am launching big projects. Her ability to seamlessly blend her roles as a project manager and business coach makes otherwise sluggish and daunting tasks quick and approachable. I never worry that we’ll get hung up on a technical issue or design flaw since her experience covers the entire spectrum of online business needs.
Amber’s efficient and thorough approach, especially in email marketing, makes selling easy and fun. Beyond her professional expertise, her creativity and experience shine through in every detail.
She will take the time to get to know the inner workings of your business so you can trust her judgment and take her advice to heart. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Why I love Voxer
Voxer is different than Zoom, WhatsApp, or any other messenger. Here’s why I prefer it for 1:1 coaching:
👂 Listen and respond at your own pace
It’s a walkie-talkie app, so when I’m leaving a voice note, you can listen real-time, or listen back later. This allows the conversation to move at about the same pace as a phone call, or you can take your time to play the message, take notes, think about what I’ve said, and then respond at your own pace.
I am hard-of-hearing and sometimes I don’t catch everything people say during a Zoom or phone call. Voxer makes it easy for me to replay things quickly and respond once I’m confident to do so.
🗣️ Better than a regular conversation
You can replay messages if you don’t quite hear or understand. And unlike Zoom, you can’t talk over each other. You can also send text messages, images, and voice messages all in the same conversation, depending on what you need to communicate! Download and save voice and text messages to refer back to later.
🏠 It fits around our work-from-home lives
For solo business owners and those of us who work from home, it fits around our lives in a relaxed way that a video call or a phone call does not. If you need to take your dog out, make a snack for your kids, answer the door, or use the bathroom, it’s no problem. Rather than having to clean your room, do your hair and makeup, react in real-time, and sit upright at a computer, Voxer lets you do YOU.
Pace around, don’t worry about your facial expression, focus on what’s being said. Take notes, consider your response, reply.
🔐 More secure and separate
You don’t have to give anyone your phone number. No one can call you. It’s separate from your personal life. You can delete the app if you don’t use it outside of coaching with me, and reinstall it anytime you want to book with me.
Coaching through Voxer was an unexpected game-changer for me!
“I loved the freedom to walk around and chat without needing to be on camera. It felt easy, natural, and incredibly productive.
I was worried it might be clunky, but it flowed seamlessly with near-instant responses—just like the walkie-talkie logo suggests! Plus, all of Amber’s wisdom is saved in the thread, and I’m already referring back to it.
I’m totally on board with this format moving forward!”

Here’s what a typical Voxer conversation looks like. It’s a mix of audio messages, texts, and sometimes photos.
Not sure about using Voxer? Test it out with me.
Voxer is a lot like other messenger apps you’ve used, with some slight differences (like the walkie-talkie feature).
If you want to book coaching with me but are hesitant about using Voxer, we can test it out ahead of time. Just download the Voxer app (it’s free) and add me as a contact (my username is amberkarnes or you can look me up by my email hello [at] amberkarnes.com).
Then send me a message on Voxer. We’ll play with it for a few minutes until you’re comfortable.
Curious about using Voxer for your business? I absolutely loved this free Voxer training [aff] that shows you how to set up offers just like this.
Easy to show up as myself
Working with you felt like a safe space for my business goals. That is rare. Thank you.
Also, thank you for creating a space where I can show up with my kiddos screaming in the background and coming in for who knows what.
It was very easy to show up as myself exactly as I am. It was easy to be vulnerable, it was easy to ask for help and what I needed.

Trusted to tackle any responsibility or task
I hired Amber to work for me as a Marketing Director at Relay Foods, and I remember breathing a sigh of relief a month or so into her tenure, realizing that I had recruited a true all-rounder who could be trusted to tackle any responsibility or task, accruing allies and building alignment throughout the organization (up, down, across) along the way.
For her manager, Amber provides tremendous support and leverage through her unique combination of ownership, experience, and practicality; for her team, Amber provides creative insights, empathetic leadership, and analytical rigor.
I highly recommend her for any role in the Marketing, Creative, or Project Management spheres.

Coaching FAQs
Will you write copy for me?
Sort of. We can write it together. This is a done-with-you service. If you’ve got copy to write, at the beginning of the day I’ll create some prompts to help us write and put it into a collaborative Google Doc. Parts of it I can write, and I’ll let you know where I need your input. You’ll work on the document and let me know when it’s ready. I’ll review, and so on. It’s a collaborative, co-created effort.
If you want me to write copy for you instead of with you, copywriting packages begin at $1500 USD. Reach out to discuss at hello [at] amberkarnes.com.
I can’t be on the phone all day, I have kids to pick up (etc).
I get it. I work from home too. I also coach lots of home-based business owners. I know the dog needs to go out, the doorbell is ringing, and the kids have to be dropped off. Taking short breaks throughout the day is actually a good thing, especially when we are collaborating on a project. It gives your brain the space and time it needs to process what we’re doing and let new ideas come up.
So make lunch, do the school run, take those short life-breaks. But don’t book our day together when you have something that needs to hold all your focus for a few hours. As much as possible, you want to free up most of our 6 hours so you can dedicate your focus to what we’re collaborating on together.
Can I change my date?
Of course. I appreciate as much notice as possible (at least 24 hours). You can email me or reschedule via the confirmation email you’ll get from me when you book.
How much does Voxer cost?
The Voxer app is free. There’s a pro version for a small fee that gets you things like transcription and the ability to keep messages for longer. I use the free version.
Can't we use Zoom instead?
Voxer is different from Zoom. I believe it’s a better tool for the type of coaching we’ll be doing together. Here are some reasons why I like Voxer better than Zoom.
If we need to screenshare, we may get on Zoom for that type of thing specifically. But just trust me, you’re gonna love Voxer.
If you can’t stand the idea of using a different app than Zoom, email me at hello [at] amberkarnes.com. We’ll figure it out! ☺️
Do you guarantee we will finish the project?
No, because it’s not always that cut-and-dry. At the start of the day we’ll make a plan to be sure we focus on your top priorities, but the day will go where it needs to.
Sometimes you start with one intention, but decide to switch projects once you talk something through with me.
Sometimes you need to spend longer on a smaller part of the project because we’re on a roll (we started out doing a general website audit and decided to rewrite your about page).
You're not available when it's convenient for me.
Email me at hello [at] amberkarnes.com and we’ll see if we can work something out. I often work with folks from different time zones, and I’m happy to be flexible when I can.
Aren’t there online courses to teach me this stuff?
Of course there are. But if watching some videos would get you unstuck, you probably wouldn’t still be reading, right?
Most of the time, the key to getting unstuck is not just knowing the next step in your project, but being able to deal with the uncomfortable feelings that come up during the process!
It’s not easy to navigate feelings like shame, impostor syndrome, and that mean voice in your head that tells you you aren’t ready, you don’t know enough, and everyone’s going to laugh at you. It’s almost impossible to do it alone!
